Photographers throughout the San Luis Valley are invited to submit photography to this year's exhibition. This is a wonderful way for tourists to experience the beauty of our region and for our local photographers to gain recognition for their work.
We will have our traditional Opening Reception on June 13th at 5:00 pm at the Creede & Mineral County Visitor Center.
The photographs will be displayed in the Visitor Center through September 14, 2025.
The 2025 judge, Kathy Killip, will select 1st - 3rd place awards and Honorable Mentions.
Visitors will vote for their favorite photo, and the winner will receive the People's Choice Award.
The winning photo will be purchased by the Creede Arts Council, framed, and displayed at the Creede & Mineral County Visitor Center.
Kathy Killip is this year’s judge for the 2025 Mountain Shootout Photo Contest. She has 58 years of professional design experience with work sold nationally and internationally through Hallmark Cards and DEMDACO where she was one of the three founding designers. Her own company, Underbrush Ltd. was founded in 1977. Kathy is inspired by color, pattern and texture found in nature and the world around us. Nature inspired designs, angel ornaments, natural wreaths, photography & photo notecards, bracelets & DEMDACO gifts designed by Kathy are sold at The STUDIOS AT BRISTOL, 39542 HWY 149, Creede. Her love of this area is evident in the 75 years that she has been creating memories here and at her beloved Little Squaw Resort that her family has owned since 1965.
