The Creede Arts Council is an "all-volunteer" organization that seeks to promote the arts in the Creede and South Fork areas of Colorado. Activities for the local community include the Variety Show (performed at the Ruth Theatre in Creede), the Willow Creek Journal, which is a great collection of locally-produced poetry, prose, art, and photography, and the Mountain Shoot Out photgraphy show. CAC summer events highlight artists from the region, and the National Small Print Show attracts artists from all around the country.
Creede is a charming, colorful, old mining town in the south central Rocky Mountains. The spectacular cliffs of the Willow Creek canyon provide a beautiful backdrop for this quirky and creative place, with fine restaurants, unique shops, and a cool, dry climate that is a welcome respite for visitors escaping the summer heat. Summertime Creede has a lively night life, wonderful opportunities for sporting activities, and an incredible array of unique events, including a balloon festival, a sculpture show, and a variety of theatrical and musical offerings.
Please consider helping us to continue and grow our efforts by making a donation. We are a non-profit organization, dependent on volunteers, that helps to sustain the unique culture of the town of Creede and Mineral County.
