The Release Party to commemorate the 2012 Willow Creek Journal and to honor those who contributed to making the journal great, is this Thursday, May 17th, at 5:00 pm at the Creede Community Church Fellowship Hall. Refreshments will be served and the authors published in the journal will read their poems or excerpts from their stories.
Contributors will receive a free contributors copy, and prizes will be distributed for this year’s poetry and short, short story contests. The winners of this year’s poetry contest are as follows:
In the adult poetry category, Jane Morton, a summer Creede resident received the prize for her poem, “Finding Gold.”
The elementary award went to Levi VanRy for his poem “The Ghost Eye Tree.”
In the Short, Short Story category, Trary LaMee received the Award for her story “Phi Beta Kappa.”
The Creede Arts Council requests that those who would like a copy of the journal, who are not contributors, make a donation toward the printing costs. This literary magazine is somewhat expensive to publish, but we are sure you agree that it is well worth it, for it’s beauty and reading pleasure.
The journal will be available at the release party as well as throughout the summer at Creede Arts Council events and in local Creede area businesses, including in any of our wonderful galleries. Stop in for your copy “today”!
For more information or to order a copy of the journal in advance, please contact the Creede Arts Council: 658-0312 or creedearts@gojade.org
NOTE – Contributors who cannot make it to the release party will receive their copy of the journal through the mail.
